I've been working on this star pattern for a while now, I like this version the best, I think! I'm trying to use up scraps and hopefully before long I will have a star quilt. I got the red block done yesterday, so now I have 3!
Also something that I want to finish up that I started last year, is the block of the month. I've had the first three done for a while, finished up month 4 yesterday and hopefully block 5 & 6 today. Not sure if I will actually buy the rest of the year's block or just do something with the 6 blocks I have. You know just yesterday I determined that I had enough material to not have to buy more this new year. Of course....I do need the rest of the blocks and the material to match!
I've only committed to one quilting challenge this year, the
FMQ Challenge....free motion quilting challenge. Each month
SewCalGal is going to post a video or tutorial from a well know FM quilter. They will show how to get comfortable with quilting on your sewing machine, adding new and more difficult techniques each month. Plus there is a give-a-way each month for anyone completing the challenge. The first video was posted yesterday and got my sample quilt sandwich ready.
This is the quilting thread and the free motion quilting foot. I believe the first video is going to have me making vines and leafs. Okay....off to quilt and piece and sew!
